QuickLock®
Shield
Patent Pending
Effective
lock down plans have evolved to include locking the door and covering
the window to protect occupants. A window on a door
renders a lock useless as a shooter can easily break through
glass and either unlock the door or remove the cover to aim at
victims.
QuickLock
Shield fastens to the back of a
classroom door to provide a fast and easy fortification of a
door window to frustrate and delay a shooter until law
enforcement can engage them. An occupant simply slides the
device over the window and it locks in place. At
a cost less than most door locks, QuickLock Shield can save
lives and will not interfere with the open learning environment.
There are an
infinite number of ways to secure a school; however, schools
have a limited supply of funds. This low cost, common
sense solution will not only better protect students and
teachers, but may also serve as a deterrent to someone
considering a suicide shooting rampage, as they may view this as
an obstacle to creating mass casualties.
Other efforts to stop shooters before they execute plans are
also important, just as the TSA works hard to keep terrorists
off planes to begin with. Even with proactive measures
in place, the low cost effective plan to fortify cockpit doors
was adopted as a back-up in the event terrorists slip through
and get on a flight. At a cost less than most door locks,
QuickLock Shield can save lives by giving law enforcement time
to engage.
